Random lines

Fri Sep 09, 2016 11:06 am

I was wondering if its just me or if other people have experienced this, if so please share if you've fixed it or not. I use a ugee 1910b display tablet on a windows 10 OS with Krita 3.0. I love it all except for the random lines that appear while i am drawing. and yeah I could just keep clicking undo but it gets really tedious when they appear constantly as I try and work.

Yes, I have the same tablet and this happens to me as well. I've tried to reinstall the drivers and even get a new pen, but to no avail. I don't think it's a compatibility issue, since Krita 2.9 worked great on my computer, but then again, maybe some of the new features are screwing around with my tablet. It's even happening with the straight line tool: I try to use it and when I start at point a and drag to point b, it will go to some random point c that I never even touched. Even if it was frustrating when it did this with the regular brushes, the line tool was supposed to help combat this, but now I can't even trust that. I I really don't know, but it is annoying and I want to get it fixed. Can someone please help?

Happens sometimes to me as well, when Kritas autosave kicks in or the cpu suddenly gets very busy and my pen touched the canvas before that started.

1. Pen on canvas
2. main thread blocks (like auto save)
3. while this happens you move the pen to another point, and even lift it
4. boom there is the line.

Same here but I don't have a tablet. It happens about 3 or 4 times every other minute and it's always when creating a new brush stroke. Also, the brush tool isn't running as smooth as in 3.0 so for the time being I've switched back. :)

I've noticed (in Krita 3.0.1.1 & 3.0.1.9) that strokes drawn in very close proximity are more likely to do the weird zig-zag/ random lines. If they're spaced further apart it does happen but not as often.

If you guys think you have a bug, maybe report it to bugs.kde.org?

Maybe with a tablet log attached?

Hi Guys
The answer is to do with the pressure sensitivity in your pen.
Krita is set to recognise the pen from about an inch from the screen so if you pass the pen over the screen then sometimes feint lines will appear.
How to cure this is to reduce the pen sensitivity.

Open Krita;
on the top toolbar click on settings
In the dropdown box click on configure Krita
Now click on tablet settings, you should see a square with 16 boxes inside it. There will be a diagonal line passing through itt. These are your pressure settings.
At the bottom left corner of the square click and hold on the cursor. Drag the cursor to the right and stop at the junction between the first and second box.
Click save settings.
This will cure the random extra lines.

effectively we have decreased the sensitivity for low pressure thus eliminating the random lines
